![]() The hotel does have some food and beverage options though. The Hotel Indigo San Diego Gaslamp Quarter doesn’t offer complimentary breakfast (no Hotel Indigos do), so we grabbed breakfast from the Starbucks around the corner each morning. Unlike some hotels that have transitioned to having large bottles of wall-mounted toiletries in the shower, the Hotel Indigo had small bottles of toiletries. The bathroom didn’t have a bathtub, but there was a large walk-in shower. The bathroom was a fairly good size and had a long vanity. The room did have a closet in the corner which contained a safe, iron, ironing board and luggage rack. It was surprising and a little disappointing that the room didn’t have a mini fridge. To the right of that was a dresser with a TV on top. On the other side of the room was a desk and chair. Armchair, ottoman & side tableĪs mentioned earlier, the Hotel Indigo upgraded us to a room with a skyline view and it was a pretty good view. In the corner of the room was an armchair and ottoman, along with a side table designed to look like a tree trunk (or perhaps it was part of an actual tree trunk). The cylindrical pillow on the bed worked well as a light-blocker by placing it on the floor in front of the door. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed with tables on each side. In the entranceway there was a table with a Keurig coffee maker on top. When entering the room the bedroom was straight ahead and the bathroom was to the right. We were assigned room 920 they did this so that we’d be on the same floor as the rooftop pet area seeing as we had our dog Truffles with us. Gloria was the front desk agent who checked us in and Shae said that she was incredibly friendly and helpful. On the day we arrived, Shae went inside to get us checked in while I unloaded what we needed from our car. We’d booked a King Deluxe room and were upgraded to a King Skyline View room. This was surprising because IHG properties in the US are normally awful about giving upgrades, let alone giving you one ahead of time when you hadn’t even requested one! The day before we arrived I received an email from IHG (the chain Hotel Indigo is part of) letting me know that we’d received a room upgrade. Here’s a review of our stay at the Hotel Indigo San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. Window._PLUGIN_STATE_ = JSON.The Hotel Indigo is a very pet-friendly hotel, is nice and comfortable, provides good IHG elite status benefits and is the perfect place to stay if you’re in San Diego to go to a Padres game as the stadium is only a block away from Petco Park. We walked to Seagrove park a couple times which is lovely and has gorgeous views and is grassy which makes it nice for picnics or other park stuff. There isn't direct beach access, but you can walk down to the beach if you have time and / or like walking. French bakery just down the street, Chinese/Mexican/Italian food, sandwich shop, bars and more walkable in 10-15 minutes. The location is really close to town, and you can walk to do most stuff in Del Mar within about 15 minutes. We played some board games while watching the sunset. While most or all rooms don't have a private balcony, the rooms had a table and chairs right outside and those had great views too. Well-designed, and had a great view of the ocean which was perfect for taking in sunsets. The room was comfy with a couch, king bed, additional seating, desk, etc. We paid a bit more to get the bigger room option, and that was well worth it. The staff was really nice to our cat and gave her attention at check-in and check-out :D The staff was really friendly and accommodated an early check-in request which was big time as we had a maintenance project going on at our apartment. We stayed here for 2 nights and loved the experience!
